ABOUT US
A concrete legacy
Westerlund Shotcrete, Inc. began
with John Westerlund. John's grandfather immigrated to the United States from Sweden in the late 1800's where he established a successful sand/gravel company. Then John's father began as a mason contractor who went on to build concrete pumps, hold several patents in the concrete pumping manufacturing industry, and was co-founder with John's uncle of Construction Forms Inc., which is a leading manufacturer of concrete pumping systems.
John Westerlund moved to Nashville in 1986 and worked for Nashville's original concrete pump contractor, Leon Syler. By 1989, John purchased a pump and started his own concrete journey that culminated into Westerlund Shotcrete, Inc. which became the go-to company for any project involving the combination of concrete and structural issues. John declared, "It could be said that concrete runs in my veins."
THE LEGACY CONTINUES
In 2021, John Westerlund sold Westerlund Shotcrete, Inc. to his foreman of eight years, Kyle Kelly. John knew Kyle would take Westerlund Shotcrete and continue to walk out the legacy as John shared with Kyle, "...it has been a privilege to work with you these last eight years at WSI. I know you to be an ethical man with considerable knowledge in our field and a formidable work ethic. I also recognize your ability to effectively communicate with clients, workers, and suppliers."
TODAY
